Best Greens in Houston - July
Cypress Lakes retains the #1 spot as Houston's best greens. They are awesome. Very consistent. Perfect.
Close on their heels is BlackHorse north; cut down for the recent qualifiers tournaments, they are quicker than greased glass! Roll very true. Still rolling well late in the afternoon.
Leave comments if you know of better greens; I'll go investigate !!
The Tournament Course at Redstone
Exciting Times at the Redstone Tournament Course
Very exciting that the new Rees Jones course has opened at Redstone. In case you missed it 2 holes are on the same side of Greens Bayou as the Members Course, #1 and #18. The other 16 holes are on the south side of Greens Bayou.
Doug Pike of the Houston Chronicle gives us an early review. Read the Review of the Tournament Course at Redstone Doug and his evaluation team are straight shooters. High handicappers but straight shooters.
Early reviews say the course is fair and challenging. I'll add that it is somewhat unique also, personal service via a forecaddie who will accompany your 4-some. The golf club also benefits because forecaddies help speed up the pace of play. You usually only get fore caddies at resorts.
Lets go play from the back, 7,422 yards. Its the home of the Shell Houston Open on the PGA tour; it has to be nice and long!
